Black Friday Sales!

Oh man, I am soooooo in the mood for shopping!  Mom and I always get up at dark-thirty on the morning after Thanksgiving and stand in line outside of JcPenney waiting for our annual Mickey Mouse Christmas Snow Globe.  Can't wait.  If you're a collector, too, then meet us at the JcP at Northwoods Mall.  See you there next Friday.  :)

**Tons of stuff will be 50% OFF, some 60-70% OFF, and even some 80% OFF deals!!!

3rd Annual Fall Yard Sale

Love this sale. There is always such great stuff. The first ladies to get here arrived just after 7am! I hadn't even had my coffee yet. Too much fun, though.

What's Coming Up?

Wow, we have such a power packed schedule for the next two months at Charleston Scrapbooking.  It's very exciting.  Just this week alone, we have lots going on everyday:

Sunday

• Card Swap

- Both swap groups are full.  If you'd like to participate in next month's swap, be sure to call the store asap to reserve your spot.

Monday

• Make-n-Takes - These have been such a cool hit.  Each Monday, we have a small project available for you to complete at the store.  We provide all supplies, even the adhesive!  This is a great stress reliever for your lunch break or you can take the kit with you and complete it at home.  They come with full color instructions, pictures included.  $3-$5
• Tear Squirrel Layout - This will be about the 4th time Bobbi has taught this class!  That squirrel is so cute!!  If you've never done tearbears before, Bobbi will walk you through the technique.  For experienced tearbear-ers, Bobbi will help get you to the next level.  $18

Tuesday

• Scrapbooking with Texture - We are so excited to have Diane McKnight finally teaching classes for us.  She is a very talented paper crafter, and we enjoy her so much.  Diane will be doing a series of these "Texture" classes, basically a 101 uses for modeling paste.  We're adding acrylic paint, working w/ glass beads, using ornate stencils & more. $25
• Ladies' Night BUNCO - Woohoo!  This is "get-down" night at The Pink House.  (Yes, we still call it that!)  One night a month, we put the paper aside and get together to throw the dice.  No strategy involved, just pure friendly competition where even the "losers" get great prizes.  $5

Wednesday

• Tearbear Santa - OKAY, seriously, this is the cutest thing I've ever seen!  Bobbi has a Christmas card sample on our wall with this bear on it, and it is such an attention getter.  Come join the groupies that are flocking to Bobbi's classes and don't miss out on this one.  $18
• 12 Tags of Christmas - You may have read my earlier post about Robin's gorgeous Christmas/T!m Holtz tags.  Robin is continuing to rock her weekly Wednesday night classes through mid December.  But each class is a different set of tags.  So you'll want to come every week.  $15

Thursday

• Fall Pop-up Album - Amber is so cool!  She's just recently begun teaching classes for us and we are so excited to have her on the team.  This project is great as a table center piece when opened in the "pop-up" position.  It also makes a great coffee table piece or fits nicely next to your scrapbooks when folded into the "book" position.  Very versatile and perfect for Fall.  $25

**We're taking a break Friday from classes and crops in order to prepare for Saturday's Yard Sale!!

Saturday

• Annual Fall Yard Sale - This is usually our biggest event of the year.  There is still time to participate as a seller!!  Call the store now (or drop by).  For $5 you get your Seller #.  Then go through all of your craft related stuff, bag everything up, mark it with a low "yard-sale" price, label it with your seller #, and bring it in to the store ASAP.  We will still accept items early this week, but call to get your seller # now.

Set your Alarm clock.  You don't want to be late.  The yard-salers usually are in line by 7:45am.  The rope will be released exactly at 8:00am.  Dress warm, the sale is outside until 12pm.  You may want to bring a large shopping bag or rolling tote.  The shopping baskets tend to go early.

Keep In Touch

You've heard the saying... KIT.  That's what we all put in our yearbooks, followed by "lylas" - love ya like a sister.  remember that?  Well I've been feeling very nostalgic lately as I'm spending more time on Facebook, getting back in touch with old friends.

I think the pressure of keeping up with all my responsibilities & blessings has me day dreaming of a much simpler time in my life... not better, just simpler.  There once was a time when I could call up a couple girlfriends and we would drive to new Orleans on a whim, or a party would show up at my house unannounced.  (Actually, that was a pretty regular thing.  But let's not bring that up in front of Mom, okay?)

Well, what I've decided is to Have more FUN!! and not let that gap in time happen with my current friends.  So, I'm doing 2 things: 

*First, I'm inviting all my friends to join my Facebook and Twitter updates.  This way we can stay in touch with each other no matter when/where we happen to be.  You can scroll down on my blog to the right for links to those accounts.

*Second, and what I'm really excited about is:  I want to have a Girls Getaway.  We've been tossing around a few ideas at some crops & classes lately.  Y'all have been saying maybe a cruise, maybe a beach house weekend... well, I'm ready to start planning something. 

Yeeeee!!  I'm getting giddy just thinking about it already.  I want a weekend somewhere not too far away, but far enough that I won't be called home to fix any minor disasters.  Of course I want a big huge scraproom for all of us to have scrapspace that we can leave all of our stuff set up.  I'd like decent accomodations (not really interested in the camping/roughing it thing).  And I don't want to have to worry about feeding everyone the whole time, so I'm thinking each of us would be responsible for one meal.  I want a good stereo/cd player, I gotta have some 80's music going to get my groove on!  And I must have a heavy duty blender for my margaritas!
