So much to blog about...

Whew-what a weekend!  Michelle Van Etten and "her little friend" fit in very well with us at The Pink House.  We giggled & crafted, cut & glued until 4am each night, no joke!  Friday night we did a Christmas acrylic album.  I've never used so much glossy accents before in my life.  :)  love it!  Our class was technically over around 10/11pm, but most of the ladies stayed 'til after midnight, and Tanya and I hung out finishing our books until 4am.  Thanks for sticking around sweety.  I don't get a chance to do that very often.

So 8:00am Saturday morning came very quickly!  But Michelle Van-E rocked it all day (with a little help from a 5 Hr shot that I've gotta try.)  I ran her back to the hotel room around midnight-ish so she could get her comfy clothes and most importantly her socks.  Michelle has a thing for socks to wipe her hands on.  Again, we stayed 'til 4am, before Mom rushed her away to catch a 5:00 flight.

Bling It On!

Long story, but here's the jist...  Primarilly, Mom & Shere are handling the class schedule.  I have been only remotely involved.  Well, they decided to add me to the calendar teaching a Bling class.  Are you kidding me?  First of all, I have issues w/ anyone (even doctor's offices) scheduling my appointments.  (up tight? yeah, I know)  But seriously, could you pile anything else on my already over-loaded stressed-out plate?  Well, Thursday Mom asked me really sweetly to please bail her out.  How am I going to turn that down?  So, with 4 days notice I said yes.  I stayed up past midnight both Friday & Saturday to get a few projects together and they turned out really cute.  I am the Queen of Bling after all! 

For the Bling Class, we used Bazzill Bling cardstock, K&Co glitter candy paper, Scrappy Cat shimmer ink, Stickles glitter glue, Tattered Angels glimmer mist, and of course Glitz Frosting rhinestones!!!

2 New Pink House Programs!

The creative juices are flowing over at THE PINK HOUSE!  Mom's been working on a couple of great ideas, and now we're ready to unveil 'em...

STEEL MAGNOLIAS

• This gang of scrappers has been growing over the course of the past few months, and now we've given this fantastic group of ladies a name.  Steel Magnolias is so appropriate to describe the wonderful women who come to hang out, crop, talk, laugh, eat, scrapbook, stamp, talk, laugh, & oh did I mention talk & laugh?  Mom, Debbie, Shere, Lee, Debra, Madeleine & more are creating a formal schedule & inviting other like minded ladies to join them for fun social times. 

• The Steel Magnolias are not just in it for themselves, however.  This mature sorority will also be service driven.  Each $10 social event will benefit local charities such as The Ronald McDonald House, American Cancer Society, and many more important organizations.  The Pink House will be donating the crop space, and 100% of the $10 fees will go toward the charitable organization of the day.  Please contact Mom for more info and keep your eye out for the October Steel Magnolias schedule!!

CARD OF THE MONTH

• A lot of companies offer a COTM program, but very few will offer the diverse array of products that we have planned for you.  Each month at The Pink House, we will create a brand new, one-of-a-kind, never-before-seen card.  We'll gather all of the supplies used for each card (including inks & stamps!!), include an easy to follow set of step-by-step instructions, and even mail it directly to your house if you want.

• Each month, the COTM kit will be available only while supplies last, so we recommend you "subscribe".  Once you create your account, you'll be ensured of receiving your new card kit every month.  This program is also a brilliant gift idea for birthdays & holidays!! 

We are so excited to be bringing these new programs to The Pink House, Charleston's best scrapbooking store!!  Mom & I want to thank you all for your continued support as we grow, and please keep sending us new ideas, product suggestions, and constructive feedback.

So yesterday I took the kids to Toys R US.  My 9 yr old son is into "Bakugan" or something like that.  These little plastic "animals" come closed up in a ball like a rollypolly, but they open up when rolled onto a Baku-card.  I think its all magnet driven.  Well, Zane earned $10 specifically to buy some of these creatures, and Tuesday was the day I promised to take him to get them.  We go in to the toy store, which by-the-way was completely deserted at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, and my son has a terrible time decideing which set of these must-have plastic action toys to get.  Finally, I convince him to get the one that comes with 3 figures, but he has to give up his StarBucks treat to cover the extra $3-ish.  Then we hop on over to StarBucks and ordered 4 hot chocolates for the kids, forgetting that Zane wasn't suppose to get one.  Well, he didn't know I basically did it on accident, and he thanked me so heartfelt that I almost cried!  We spoil our kids too much I think, so to receive that genuine tone of appreciation really touched me.  Yay-I scored a good mom point.  :)

Michelle is a top designer for PRIMA, Tattered Angels, AccuCut & more, and she's coming to The Pink House this month!!  Michelle will be bringing SIX amazing class projects, something for everyone.  Here's the schedule:

Friday - 9/26 6pm - "A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS"  This 6x12 acrylic album really gets me in the mood to go mix up some hot chocolate & put up a Christmas tree.  The beautiful use of color and embellishments make for a decorative holiday centerpiece, or you could give this album as a one-of-a-kind spectacular Christmas gift.  Never too early to start preparing for the holidays.

       

Saturday - 9/27 9am - "SUMMER DAYS"  This acrylic album is chock full of bright summer fun.  Michelle has designed a book that makes me want to grab a beach ball and head for the surf.  There's lots of glitz, glimmer & shine to this one.  I'm sure you have unscrapped beach photos longing for a fun, creative place to call home.

Saturday - 9/27 2:30pm - "PRIMA PAINTABLES"  Create a unique 1 page layout using alcohol inks, a printed 12x12 overlay & some delectable embellishments from Prima.  You'll all start with the same products, but your finished pages will be so uniquely yours.  Michelle has taught this class all over the country, and it continues to be a favorite.

Saturday - 9/27 6pm - "DREAM BOOK"  This album isn't acrylic or chipboard... it's pages are made from wood!  See how fun it is to scrap on this new surface from Australia.

Sunday - 9/28 1pm - "Kaiser Clock"  Come create your own version of this 12x12 altered wood clock.  You can go with the holiday theme as designed, or you can put your own spin on things and make it what you want.  Another fabulous home decor item that makes a great gift.

Sunday - 9/28 4pm - "REFLECTIONS JOURNAL"  This class will help guide you thru the creation of a very personal place to record thoughts, prayers, favorite quotes, tidbits of advice & support, and so much more.

I don't have a picture of this project yet, because Michelle is designing this journal especially for us, in honor of SCRAPPINK.  Last year we had our very first 12 Hr Crop in support of this national day of awareness, so this year we're doing something different.  SCRAPPINK is a day designated to help raise money for the advancement of breast cancer research.  It's always held the last weekend of September in an effort to help "kick off" October: National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Be sure to check your calendar quickly.  We have less than 3 weeks before Michelle arrives.  The gorgeous class samples should be delivered early this week.
