So of course I began my weekend at The Pink House... I stayed at the store Friday night until it became Saturday morning. I had to slave away on the computer, in-putting all the newest products into inventory & then rearranging everything on the showroom floors so it would fit. (I'm beginning to run out of room! Guess we better get that upstairs renovation finished asap. Anyone know a good contractor? Have 'em come by and give me an estimate.)
Well, while Mom did Lord knows what (besides taking care of our packed house of croppers!) and Ronee (gasp) actually made cards for her daughter's birthday (blast her!), I spent my Friday night away from my husband and kids so that I could get the week's inventory completed. Just for you! But, hey - that's the kind of store owner I am. It's all for you! (Okay, so maybe I enjoy a perk every once in awhile, but don't tell "The Mom.")
Saturday, my husband & I took the kids to the beach (Sullivan's Island - station 19 - what's up!). Mike and our son, Zane (age 8), stayed out in the waves boogie boarding the whole afternoon! The girls swam, picked up seashells, and chased crabs & tadpoles. Every once in awhile, I'd make the boys give the girls a turn on the boards. They were all so cute! I have such a little surfer bunch... even my "baby" Bella (age 4) looked like a pro out there on the waves. I WILL bring my camera next time.
Sunday morning I drove to Columbia to pick up my oldest daughter, Zoe (age 11). She's my budding Ansel Adams. Zoe had spent the week with her best friend in Charlotte, NC. They had also gone to Busch Gardens (Williamsburg, VA) and rode The Griffin! My husband pulled that roller coaster up on the internet so I could see what my first born had done... http://www.buschgardens.com/bgw/ar_rides.aspx Well, let me just tell you that after watchin' that webcast... I just about had a heart attack! I soooo would not have gotten on that thing, call me a wimp... I don't care! I used to like roller coasters, but I guess that's what age'll do to ya.
Once I picked up Zoe, we went SHOPPING! She and I hadn't spent much time together lately just the two of us. We really had some good quality mother-daughter time yesterday, shopped at a bunch of different clothing stores & had an actual sit down lunch instead of the usual drive-thru. Guess a week away from home did my pre-teen drama queen some good. Thank God! 'cuz I was about to release her to the hounds before she left!
Well, that's another weekend crossed out on the calendar... now it's Monday and I'm back at the store planning a bunch of new scraptabulous events. Don't forget to come see me this Saturday for our "Play Station" event. It's free, fun, and air conditioned!
Scrap like you mean it!
:) Michelle
